The reports which used to cost $9.5 earlier will now be provided free of cost to all americans on a yearly basis. All the 3 major credit report agencies have just got to give the consumer his/her report, on request, every 12 months.
Although the report does not give a credit score, the information in it will be used to compute the credit score. So, the onus is now on the consumer to ensure all the payments and balances are in line.
