Students as customers!

STP is the first rule of marketing. Segmentation has been traditionally done alone demographic variables and more recently psychometric variables. One segment in particular got me think the other day. The segment of students. Especially in the age group of undergraduate freshman to graduate sophomore. These are the guys with the greatest potential from the point of view of the marketer. They are young and raring to go in terms of consumption.
Innovation in terms of products of value to this group such as a new age pdf search improvement service would have great potential to bloom in the market. Students are constantly searching the web for information that will help them in their numerous assignments and tests. Tools that can simplify this process for them would definitely be a huge hit.
